Some cookbooks will be available at the Mountain Spirits Arts Festival. Two down-home cookbooks that have recipes as well as stories behind the recipes are New River: bonnets, apple butter, and moonshine (The Making of a Fat Little Boy) by Charles Lytton and Mom's Family Pie by Peggy Ann Shifflett.

Libby Bondurant will have Grazing Along the Crooked Road at the festival. This cookbook has been very popular in the region.
